The uptake of iPlato's mobile patient services in the last four months of 2006 has demonstrated that a strong business case exists for SMS Appointement reminders, despite the challenging financial position the NHS faces.
Use of the service has grown from less than 100,000 patients in August to around half a million users now. It is anticipated that rather explosive growth will continue in 2007, on the back of the cost savings from a significant contribution to reducing DNA (did not attend) and other services.
