The Medilink Yorkshire and Humber Innovation Day 2006 is a celebration of good ideas, giving you the chance to hear about some of the most innovative and fresh developments in your industry, and an opportunity for you to be updated on key healthcare sector issues.
This year, for example, you’ll be hearing from Sue Wilkin, on the NHS PASA Centre for Evidence-Based Purchasing. Created on 1st September 2005, this centre underpins purchasing decisions by providing objective evidence to support the uptake of useful, safe, innovative products and related procedures in health and social care.
In addition, Paul Trueman’s presentation will summarise the recent changes in NHS funding, focussing in particular on the implementation of Payment by Results (PbR). PbR essentially rewards NHS providers for their actual performance; which also has implications for those companies that provide supplies to the NHS.
You’ll also be able to attend this year’s Medilnk Y&H Healthcare Business Awards, which will see awards presented to the regions’ outstanding healthcare technology companies.

In recognition of the outstanding business achievements of companies across the region, Medilink Yorkshire and Humber is delighted to announce its 2006 Healthcare Business Awards, in association with Smith and Nephew – this year’s main sponsor.
The awards will take place alongside Medilink's Innovation Day, which will see Sue Wilkin, Business Head – NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency Centre for Evidenced Based Purchasing speak on the 'Centre for Evidence - Based Purchasing, the Story so Far' and Paul Trueman of YHEC, who will speak on ‘Payment by Results.’
Healthcare and healthcare related companies in the Yorkshire and Humber region can nominate their own company for one of the following categories:
Innovation Award, Export Achievement Award, Customer Service Award
and Business Start-up Award.
The Medilink Yorkshire and Humber Healthcare Business Awards and Innovation Day will be held on Tuesday March 28, 2006 at Headingley Experience, Leeds.
