When would we use the Java console and what's different about it?

Upon first use, participants may be prompted to install and run Live Meeting Software. This software contains ActiveX controls. If ActiveX controls are disabled in their web browser or are blocked by a Network Administrator, then they will be given a link to attend your event using a Java Console.

Those without administrative access to their computers, as well as anyone joining using a Macintosh will also be presented with the Java Console link.

The user experience attending through the Java Console will be very similar to the other participants’, but the functionality and layout of the console is significantly different. Users in the Java Console should thus be aware that Console tools referred to in their presentation may reside in a different location than others’, or may be unavailable entirely.

  • There is no keyboard accessibility in the Live Meeting Java console.
  • The Live Meeting Java console does not support the High Contrast accessibility mode.
  • Presenters using the Java console will not have the ability to initiate application sharing; however, they will be able to view sharing sessions initiated by a presenter using the Windows client.
  • Some tools and components are in different positions and have a slightly different appearance.

The supprt console shows the meeting organsiers who is using the Java console.
