Description

Web services are web applications based on open standards (XML, SOAP and similar), which interact with other web applications in order to exchange data. Web services are ‘black box’ software that have a published input and output and allow other services – such as a website – to connect to them to retrieve data or carry out functions.  The various web services are now covered by a defacto  open standard that ensures they can be utilised irrespective of their underlying technology.
